Addressing Non-tariff Barriers to Trade

Australia is a trading nation, and committed to open markets. In 2017, Australia’s two-way trade surged to a record $763 billion, with exports accounting for more than $386 billion.

Non-tariff barriers can be any kind of ‘red tape’ or trade rules that unjustifiably restrict the flow of goods and services.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is seeking involvement from exporters as part of the department's action plan to reduce non-tariff trade barriers.
