Australian Workshops on Little Cherry Virus 2

Cherry Growers Australia, Horticulture Australia Limited and the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture are working together using a levy funded project  to run workshops on Little Cherry Virus 2 in Tasmania, South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales. A world expert on LChV2:

Dr Kenneth C. Eastwell 
Plant Pathologist / Director, Clean Plant Center Northwest
College of Agricultural Human and Natural Resource Sciences
Washington State University IAREC, Prosser.

Will be travelling from the USA from 20 May to 2 June 2014 to present at the Fruit Growers Tasmania conference from 22 to 25 May and take part in workshops in other States.

The National Development Program Grower Update April 2014

The national development program (NDP) for the Australian cherry industry has a new member. Peter Morrison is now working with the NDP as a consultant, and will be visiting states over the coming months. Peter has been an agronomist in perennial horticulture for 19 years.

Independent Review of Horticulture - Online Survey

As you are aware, ACIL Allen Consulting has been commissioned to undertake an Independent Review of Horticulture Australia Limited (HAL). Information on this review can be found at www.acilallen.com.au/halreview.  

To ensure we consult as widely as possible, we are asking stakeholders (such as. levy payers, growers, producers of horticultural commodities, research providers and industry representatives) to participate in a short online survey. Stakeholder insights into the performance of HAL are vital to the success of the Independent Review.

The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete and remain open until 10 March 2014. The survey can be accessed using the following link:
