MEDIA RELEASE
Cherry Growers Australia (CGA) is calling for nominations to fill six (6) member-elected Director positions at the next Annual General Meeting in August 2025. This is a unique opportunity for members to contribute to the future direction of CGA and the Australian cherry industry more broadly.
The CGA board of directors is appointed in accordance with the CGA Constitution. Nominations for election must be made by completing the Director Candidate Nomination Form and providing any of the requested supporting documentation, as outlined in the Nomination Information Pack. The Director Candidate Nomination Form must be endorsed by the authorised representative of either a State Association Member or a Production Member of CGA.
Fully completed nominations must be submitted by 5:00pm, Sunday 27 July 2025. Please send nominations to coo@cherrygrowers.org.au. Late nominations will not be accepted under any circumstance.
All director nominees require experience in one or more of the following: cherry production or processing, corporate governance, strategic planning, financial acumen and business affairs, marketing and/or communications or market access and fruit exports.
The Director Candidate list will be provided to all Voting Members prior to the AGM, which will be held Monday 25 August 2025.
New CEO Penny Measham says “CGA is moving onwards and upwards in creating a stronger, sustainable future for Australian cherry growers. CGA membership is growing, providing a clear pathway for member input into setting the future direction of the industry. If you are not yet a member, I encourage you to join us and be part of the conversation.”
CGA recently took a historic step forward, officially incorporating as Cherry Growers Australia Limited, a company limited by guarantee, as confirmed by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) in May 2025.
